The Two Sisters is taken from the solo guitar composition The Three Sisters by the outstanding American guitarist/composer Muriel Anderson.

The original solo work consisted of a medley of three tunes all with a Celtic flavour; when making this duo arrangement I felt the second of the three tunes didnt work as well on two guitars as it did on one, hence only two sisters.

Croghan aGrove is a traditional Irish melody and this duet arrangement is taken from Irish Folk Songs for Classical Guitar, a collection of nineteen pieces for solo guitar which I arranged for Mel Bay Publications in 2000.
