Here are some links to sites I've found either useful, entertaining, interesting, informative or all four.

LATHKILL MUSIC PUBLISHERS Click here
I formed this publishing business in 2000, mainly at the persuasion of the Japanese guitarist Shuko Shibata (whose beautiful arrangements of Oriental children's songs were the first items in the Lathkill catalogue). Since then we have produced over 100 editions from many composers around the world.

WHY THE NAME LATHKILL?

Within a few miles of the headquarters of Lathkill Music Publishers lies one of the most beautiful places in the United Kingdom - the central region known as the Peak District. Within this area lies Lathkill Dale which, not only is a favourite place for wildlife and walkers alike, but was also the favourite spot for the publisher's dog, Daisy. Hence the name!

GORDON GILTRAP Click here

A brilliant web-site with lots to read about one of the UK's most respected guitarists. Gordon has always been one of my guitar heroes and working with him on the 'Troubadour' project has been an absolute pleasure. The fact that we've become very good friends as well has been a bonus.

CLASSICAL GUITAR MAGAZINE Click here

This magazine is the only monthly publication dedicated entirely to the guitar and is read in over 80 countries worldwide. I have been on the reviewing panel for this publication since 1984 and the excitement of receiving a bundle of music and cd's in the post for review every few weeks has never diminished. You never know what little gem is lurking amongst the 20 or 30 new editions which seem to come out on a regular basis.

The magazine features interviews with leading guitar players, composers and luthiers, has had articles on just about everything related to the classical guitar, has presented some great music in the music supplement, and has many other really good features.

THE PEACOCK HOTEL Click here

This is the beautiful hotel where my wife Nadia and I regularly play guitar on Friday evenings. It is situated in the village of Rowsley just a few miles from Bakewell in the heart of the Peak District. It recently received the AA 'Three Red Stars Award' making it one of the 250 most desirable hotels in the UK.

Lord Edward Manners (of Haddon Hall) owns the hotel and it was refurbished and styled by the award winning designer India Mahdavi.

EXPECTING RAIN Click here

This is a brilliant web-site if, like me, you are a big Bob Dylan fan " if you're not, don't bother going here, you'll be bored to death. But if you are there's everything you ever needed to know about the Man.

TONALITY GUIDE Click here

This is an interesting and very informative site if you are wishing to extend your theoretical knowledge of chord structure and progressions, key and modulation, harmony, style awareness and so on. A bit on the 'heavy'side at times but well worth a visit if you need a helping hand with theory.

SUE HOLTON Click here

Sue built not only my wonderful website, but also Gordon Giltrap's. This is her personal site, which she describes as being for "fun, friends and family." A fascinating and sometimes strange mix of contents, it features among other things, sections on her favourite musicians - some more well known than others and numerous photographs she has taken. There are always new items being added, so why not take a look and maybe ask her to build a site for you?

THE DERBYSHIRE GUITAR CIRCLE

The Derbyshire Guitar Circle meets fortnightly on a Tuesday evening, 7.30 pm at Shirland Village Hall. The circle is friendly and informal and welcomes new players. Relatively inexperienced players would be particularly welcome. We play accessible ensemble pieces as well as more ambitious music. There is also the opportunity for players to play solo if they wish.
